Moore Park South: a new park for the community
A vibrant new park for Sydney with space to exercise, socialise, relax and connect with nature.
A new public park is now open to the community, while works continue to deliver the NSW Government’s vision for Moore Park South.
Located close to one of Australia’s most densely populated urban areas, Moore Park South provides new open space for the 690,000 people living within 5 kilometres of the park.
While the broader Moore Park South transformation is scheduled for completion in 2028, visitors can already enjoy picnic areas, a temporary dog off-leash area, seating, food and beverage options and a host of recreation activities.
Once works are completed, Moore Park South will be home to community sports facilities, walking and cycling paths, a nature playground, natural open areas and a revitalised golf offer.

How to get there
Works to improve access to Moore Park South will be carried out between July and September 2026. During this time, visitors will be able to access the new park from:
- Dacey Avenue
- South Dowling Street
- Reschs Bridge link to Redfern (open from mid-August)
Please follow onsite signs, as access arrangements may change while works continue.
What's on in August
| Toll House Run Club | Join a weekly social run that builds community, while connecting people with place, wellbeing and each other. View Toll House Run Club. |
| Coffee van | Grab a coffee while you explore the new park. On site every day between 7 am – 10 am. Note: final schedule subject to change. |
| Mobile drinks cart | Pick up a refreshing non-alcoholic beverage, or something to eat including hot pies, sausage rolls, and grab-and-go sandwiches. On-site 3-6 August and 17-18 August, 7 am – 10 am. |
| Temporary dog off-leash area | Bring your 4-legged friend to enjoy the temporary dog off-leash area on the southern side of the park, with seating, bins, and drinking water provided. |
| Book your picnic experience | Reserve a picnic box to enjoy in Moore Park South through Six Palms. Book a picnic experience. |
| Group wellness programs | A weekly over-55s walking group will commence on August 10, meeting from 10 am – 11 am on Mondays, with a range of other health and wellbeing activities coming soon. Contact The Toll House for more information. |
Amenities
Visitors to Moore Park South can enjoy a range of amenities, including:
- picnic tables
- bench seats
- toilets
- food and beverage options from Golf House.
A park ranger will also be on site to welcome visitors, provide information and support the safe enjoyment of the park.
Rules for park users
To help keep Moore Park South safe and enjoyable for everyone, please follow the Centennial Parklands rules and regulations.
There are three dedicated dog off-leash areas:
- Temporary fenced dog off-leash area
- Mount Steel
- Bat and Ball Field, outside of the hours when organised sport is taking place.
In all other areas of the park, dog owners must keep their dogs on-leash and under effective control at all times. This includes cleaning up after dogs, ensuring dogs do not disturb visitors or wildlife, and avoiding biodiversity areas. In-park signage has been installed to help inform dog owners.
