Frequently asked questions
We are looking to understand sustainability impacts, risks and opportunities across our operations and the parklands estate. The survey is part of a materiality assessment - the first and most important step in developing the strategy. This work will help us reduce long-term risks and costs, improve environmental, social and economic outcomes, and protect parklands for future generations.
Sydney’s parklands face growing pressures from climate change, biodiversity loss, urbanisation and resource constraints. A proactive, coordinated approach to sustainability is needed to respond effectively. The materiality assessment will help identify the sustainability issues that matter most, including risks, opportunities and impacts, allowing Greater Sydney Parklands to focus efforts and resources where they can deliver the greatest benefit.
We will use the survey results to inform a framework that will guide the preparation of the draft sustainability strategy. The results of this project will provide an evidence-based foundation to support future sustainability priorities, initiatives and decision-making.
