Church Grounds - functions and wedding receptions

Church Grounds is an open greenspace overlooking Randwick Pond, with views towards the Sydney skyline. Its flexible lawn setting provides a blank canvas for daytime marquee wedding receptions, corporate functions and other private celebrations.

Located near Randwick Gates at the southern end of Centennial Park, the venue is close to public transport connections from the city and surrounding suburbs.

Church Grounds is located near Randwick Gates, beside Randwick Pond in Centennial Park.

Public transport is recommended. Parking within Centennial Park is limited.

Space and capacity

Church Grounds offers approximately 14,000 square metres of outdoor greenspace and can accommodate functions of up to 2,000 guests.

The area available for your function will depend on your proposed layout, infrastructure and event requirements.

What is included

Church Grounds is hired as open greenspace. Hirers are responsible for arranging the infrastructure, services and suppliers needed to deliver their function.

Depending on your plans, this may include:

• marquee, flooring, furniture and styling
• catering and bar services
• power, lighting and audio equipment
• temporary toilets
• security, fencing and event staff
• waste management and site cleaning

Event planning

You will need to engage an experienced event organiser to manage your function. Your organiser will work with our venue team on the operational plans and approvals required for the event.

Plans must address the installation and removal of temporary infrastructure, supplier and vehicle access, traffic and deliveries, waste, site servicing, wet weather and protection of the parklands.

Hire period

Church Grounds is available for a minimum hire period of 3 days, allowing time for setup, the function and pack-down.

Additional days may be arranged depending on availability and the requirements of your event.
