Enjoy your next outdoor celebration in one of our beautiful picnic shelters! Bookings are available 3 days to 3 months in advance and align with park opening hours. 

The Gawi Shelter, located in Parramatta Park, is a versatile and spacious venue for larger events. Its proximity to the George Street Gatehouse, Murray Gardens and the Pavilion Flat Playground makes it a convenient and scenic choice for corporate and family gatherings.

The Gawi Shelter offers a generous space accommodating 150 people including seating for 40. The nearby amenities, including a barbecue 10 meters away and Paperbark playground only 50 meters away, make it ideal for birthdays, picnics, and corporate events.

Nestled near the George Street Gatehouse and Murray Gardens, the Gawi Shelter is surrounded by beautiful open spaces and greenery. Its accessible location within Parramatta Park makes it a top choice for larger group events.

Private site hire: This tier offers affordable rates for individuals and community groups looking to utilise our sites.  

Community or school site hire: Designed specifically for primary and secondary educational institutions, this tier provides pricing for schools and educational programs. 

Corporate site hire: This premium tier caters to businesses and corporations, offering a complementary team-building permit and add-on for functions and corporate gatherings.    

• Bringing outside service providers like food vans, soft play or animal displays? These add-ons need prior approval and are only permitted at Gawi Shelter and Mana Shelter. Applications must be submitted at least 10 business days in advance. Fees apply. See full list and process.
• Electric barbecues in the park are for public use and are not included in your booking.
• Portable barbecues with legs are allowed (except during total fire bans), but coals and waste must be taken with you.

Cancellation Policy: 

•    Cancellations can be made up to 5 days before the date of your booking. We will deduct a $60 administration fee and refund the rest of your hire fee.
•    No refunds will be offered for cancellations made within 5 days of the date of your booking.
