We strongly recommend walking, cycling or using public transport to Weekend in Wistaria. Parking in Parramatta Park is very limited, so please leave the car at home if you can.

If you do need to drive, the O’Connell Street car park is the closest public car park to the event.

A pick-up and drop-off area will be available outside Wistaria Gardens on West Domain Avenue. This area is for short stops only and is not available for parking.

Entry to Wistaria Gardens is via Byrnes Avenue, near The Picnic Ground inside Parramatta Park.

There is no entry to the gardens via the former Cumberland Hospital site.

Accessibility

Accessible parking spaces are available outside Wistaria Gardens. Additional parking for visitors with mobility needs will be available on an unsealed surface near the garden entry.

Access to Wistaria Gardens is via a gravel driveway that slopes down into the gardens. Within the gardens, surfaces include paved paths, gravel and grass, with some uneven areas and minor cracks.

A temporary accessible toilet will be available near Glengariff House.

Visitors using wheelchairs, mobility scooters or other mobility aids should be aware that surfaces and terrain vary throughout the gardens, and some areas may be more difficult to navigate.

Now in its fifth year, Weekend in Wistaria celebrates the much-loved Wistaria Gardens and builds on the gardens’ long-standing tradition of bringing people together during spring flowering season. The event is proudly produced by Greater Sydney Parklands, which manages Wistaria Gardens as part of Parramatta Park.
