Greater Sydney Parklands is seeking an Aboriginal representative to join the Callan Park community trustee board – applications now open
 

We are seeking an Aboriginal community member to join the Callan Park community trustee board.

Callan Park is a place of deep cultural, community and heritage significance on the traditional lands of the Wangal and Gadigal peoples.

This is an opportunity to contribute your local knowledge, perspectives and experience to inform the future care, management and activation of Callan Park, ensuring Aboriginal voices and perspectives are heard in discussions about the park's future.

You will be the Aboriginal representative on the community trustee board, which is made up of 7 members including a heritage representative and community representatives.

Eligibility criteria:

• this is an Identified Aboriginal position
• sound knowledge of Callan Park, including the activities carried out in the parkland
• ability to communicate effectively with the local community

Nominations close Sunday, 16 August 2026.

New members are appointed for a 2-year term. This position is voluntary and not remunerated.

The community trustee board meets quarterly.

You will have the opportunity to meet Aboriginal representatives from other Greater Sydney Parklands' community trustee boards including Centennial Parklands, Parramatta Park, Western Sydney Parklands and Fernhill Estate several times per year.
