Bush School is a nature play program for 3 - 7 year olds and their carers, set in the woodlands of Lizard Log, Western Sydney Parklands. It’s about climbing, collecting, splashing, balancing, building, and wandering — without rushing to the next thing.

Each session is child-led and open-ended. There are cubbies to build, ropes to tie, bugs to watch and plenty of dirt to dig. Kids set the pace. Educators support the play. Adults stay and get involved, learning alongside their child through nature connection and hands-on activities.

What to expect:

  • Nature-based free play and sensory discovery
  • Mud, sticks, leaves and imagination
  • Simple bushcraft, ropes, shelter building and stories
  • Carer-child connection through shared outdoor experience
  • Practical take-home ideas for nature play

This is a stay-and-play program — carers are part of the learning journey too.

Age: Children 3 - 7 years

Meeting point: Meet at the Grevillea shelter at Lizard Log, in Western Sydney Parklands. Best parking is in East Car Park, Lizard Log.

Please note: This is our early years Bush School program for 3 - 7 year-olds, where you stay, play and retain duty of care for your children throughout.

Our drop-off Bush School for kids 8 - 12 years will be running on the same day and time, so if you have older ones, you can drop them off at the Spotted Gum shelter before joining the younger ones down the hill.
