Our volunteer opportunities
Tailored volunteering days designed to suit your organisation’s needs:
- Environmental restoration: Engage in bush regeneration, weed removal, and native planting to support biodiversity and ecosystem health (up to 30 participants).
- Gardening and maintenance: Help with weeding, mulching, general clean-up and landscaping to keep our gardens and parklands in great condition (up to 30 participants).
- Clean-up volunteering: Assist in removing litter and debris, keeping Parramatta Park safe and welcoming for the community. (Up to 100 participants).
Additional educational and team-building opportunities:
- Environmental education walks
- Mindfulness in nature and guided reflection
- History and cultural walks
Program details
- Location: Parramatta Park. A specific location within the park will be provided with your booking confirmation
- Duration: 3 hours
- Cost: $95 per person (minimum group charge of $1425, covering up to 15 pax applies)
Bookings include all tools, materials, and on-site supervision. Participation certificates are available for Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and internal reporting.

What kind of activities will we do?
- Environmental restoration
-Remove weeds and invasive plants from native bushland

-Use hand tools like loppers, secateurs, saws, rakes and brooms
- Gardening and maintenance
-Plant and care for shrubs, annuals and bulbs
-Weed, mulch, edge garden beds and clean facilities
-Paint fences and buildings
-Remove hard rubbish from parkland areas
- Clean-up volunteering
-Walk through the park removing rubbish from public areas
-Sort waste and recyclables
-Dispose of rubbish in park bins using gloves and pickers
What level of fitness is needed?
- A reasonable level of fitness and mobility is helpful
- Tasks are outdoors and may involve uneven ground or bushland
- Activities can be adjusted to suit a range of abilities
- Accessible volunteering options are available (e.g. nursery work) for those with limited mobility
What should we wear?
- Wear comfortable work clothes — long sleeves and pants are recommended
- Closed, sturdy shoes are essential
- A hat is useful for sun protection
- Gloves are provided on the day
Can we choose the type of work or site?
• We assign teams based on where help is most needed in the park
• This ensures your efforts support essential work that may not happen otherwise
Is it safe?
• Yes — there are no snakes or dangerous wildlife in the work areas
• You’ll receive a full safety induction, including guidance on tool use, lifting and safe movement
• Sites are generally level and easy to access, though some may include thick vegetation
