Greater Sydney Parklands Year in Review 2024-2025
This year we have continued to build a strong foundation in managing Greater Sydney’s parklands estate. Our role as custodians of Greater Sydney’s iconic urban parks is more important than ever, with the NSW Government focused on creating more homes with access to better public spaces.
Working together with our park communities we have continued to sustainably manage our 5 parks. They are vital green infrastructure for our city and improve the health and wellbeing of millions of visitors each year. We proudly support First Nations people in ‘Caring for Country’, and we work to protect and improve the significant cultural and heritage landscapes and the environment of our public parks.
There have been many achievements this year. Thank you to our valued local, state and federal government partners, tenants, suppliers and community trustee boards for working with us to achieve some of the following highlights:
- Revitalised Waterfront Green at Callan Park
- Upgrades across Western Sydney Parklands including Bungarribee Park, Calmsley Hill City Farm, and Lizard Log
- New lighting in Parramatta Park, improving safety and featuring First Nations artwork
- Major event delivery including New Year’s Eve in Parramatta and record attendance at Laneway Festival in Centennial Park
- Expansion of education and volunteering programs
- Focus on protecting and enhancing biodiversity and heritage.
